COVID-19 Response

At the beginning of the pandemic, KnowBe4 was able to quickly transfer to remote work while still maintaining our fun and unique company culture. Our Fun and Shenanigans team adjusted all of their fun activities to continue engaging employees while they work remotely.

For example, the fitness classes, which are normally held onsite for the employees, are now being recorded and uploaded to one of KnowBe4’s YouTube channels where all employees can access the classes. Fun company events, such as our monthly trivia competitions, are still happening, but have moved to a virtual platform where everyone can participate safely. We also have a company-wide intranet, which essentially functions as a private social media platform for all of our employees to stay connected. Our Fun and Shenanigans team uses this platform to host fun competitions for employees.

We have also sent out several care packages to our employees around the world, ranging from toilet paper to full sized cakes. Additionally, we have done contactless pick-ups, which allow employees to simply drive up to the building and get care packages handed to them. New team members a starting bonus for any remote employees to help them set up their home offices.

Currently, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, over 90% of our staff is working entirely remote. New employees will receive all necessary equipment for their jobs (such as laptops, mouses, keyboards, screens, etc.) delivered right to their homes. New employees will also receive a comprehensive guide from our IT and onboarding teams, walking new employees through everything they need to do to set up their work stations and start their first day of work.

We understand that not everyone has the ability to comfortably or effectively work from their home.

Employees who feel they need to work from the office are welcomed to do so as long as they follow all COVID-19 safety guidelines while in the office. For the small fraction of employees who voluntarily choose to work from the office, we have implemented increased security, temperature checks before entering the premises, and added hand sanitizing stations at all doors and other high touch points.

We are also strictly enforcing all employees and visitors to wear a mask and to maintain a six-foot social distance.

Our interviews are currently being conducted via phone calls and video conferencing platforms.

All new employees are being hired, onboarded, and trained remotely, but don’t worry, we’re still making the whole process super fun! New employees are treated to lunch via Uber Eats (or other delivery services); in our virtual coffee corner new employees are welcomed to order whatever drink they would like and have it reimbursed through KnowBe4. A lot has changed since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, but one thing that hasn’t changed is our amazing company culture. Our fun company events are still going on, they just use virtual platforms to connect all of our team members remotely.

We still have our daily, company-wide meeting conducted virtually; there is still an exciting and almost electric atmosphere among team members, and our productivity hasn’t slipped at all! No matter what, our number one priority is always the health and safety of our team members.

Benefits

We have a monthly bonus plan after the first 90 days of employment that each employee can earn between $0 and $2,000 per month based on sales. We started this in 2015. Since then, the lowest it has been is $7,500 per person in a year and the highest it has been is $17,800 per person in a year.

KnowBe4’s health insurance benefits for U.S. employees kick in on the first day of the month after the employee officially starts working with KnowBe4. Many other benefits, such as our office perks, gym benefits, and access to our Teladoc service start on day one of employment. After 90 days, Knowsters have access to almost all of our benefits, including our monthly bonus game, which can reward employees between $0 and $2,000 per month based on company sales.

Yes! Depending on the position and manager approval, KnowBe4 employees can adjust their schedules to start work anywhere from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and end their days between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. (depending on when they started), with an hour lunch break.

Yes! While every position has different requirements for how much time must be spent in the office (from 0% to 100%), many of our positions offer remote or flexible work arrangements. Currently, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, over 90% of our staff is working entirely remote.

We are able to hire remote employees from many states, but not all.

We are constantly evaluating our positions to examine which roles can be performed remotely, which roles need to be performed from the office, and which roles can use a hybrid of both. Every role is different and sometimes things change. Keep an eye out for updates on the job description.

The positions we have posted on the KnowBe4 website are all active hiring needs for us and we try our best to have feedback for you within 48-72 hours of your interview on what the next steps will be. (Sometimes you may even get feedback the same day!)

Our goal is to fill each open role as soon as we find the right person for the position. With that being said, our interview process is highly competitive, so there are many times it will take a little longer to provide you with feedback.

Training & Onboarding

The first week of training at KnowBe4 is dedicated to ensuring all employees understand KnowBe4’s company culture, our policies, our acronyms, and our products. Depending on the role, additional training may be necessary to go more in depth on requirements for a specific role. For example, our sales and tech support new hires spend about 4-6 weeks in the training room. Once you sign your offer letter, someone from our fantastic onboarding team will be reaching out to you prior to your start date to confirm your first day details and provide you with all the logistical details you will need.

Our Clearwater office is our only office in the U.S., though we do have employees who work remotely from many different states around the U.S.

We have expanded from our headquarters in Florida, United States into 10 more countries: the UK, the Netherlands, Norway, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Australia, Singapore, Japan, and Brazil.
We give our employees a lot of tools and support to succeed. For those who want to grow, KnowBe4 offers leadership skills training, internal career coaching, and bonuses for employees who earn certifications. We love to watch our team members grow and have a history of promoting internally whenever there is a qualified employee -- which is very frequent!

Sales Specific Questions

Our sales hires go through anywhere from 4 - 8 weeks of initial training, so we look for people who are highly coachable. We are also looking for sales reps who have a hunter mentality and aren’t afraid to track down their own leads in addition to what is provided through marketing.

We have a proven sales method that works for us, and that method doesn’t require any outside sales. We have no plans to hire outside sales representatives in the near future.
