KnowBe4's 2023 Global Pride Celebrations

At KnowBe4, we wholeheartedly honor and celebrate Pride month. We believe in fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace where everyone feels accepted and respected. During Pride month, we actively promote awareness, acceptance, and equality for the LGBTQIA+ community. We strive to provide a platform for open dialogue through panel discussions, parade attendance, and team gatherings. Let's take a closer look at what our Knowsters did to celebrate Pride month!

Participating in Local Networking Events

Some of our Knowsters in Berlin, Germany recently attended Sticks and Stones for the second year in a row. Sticks and Stones is one of the largest career fairs in Germany; it provides an avenue for LGBTQIA+ students and professionals to showcase their skills and create synergies. It's also a great opportunity for our recruiting team to meet some incredible local talent! 

Christopher, one of our Customer Success Managers, attended the Sticks & Stones event this year. He says, "This job fair was a great success on every level. Being part of such a colorful community, representing our organization and top employer as well as networking with so many amazing people was not only fun but also a real learning experience."

Fostering LGBTQIA+ Inclusion for Families

Our LGBTQIA+ employee resource group (ERG) recently collaborated with the Knowster Parents ERG to host an insightful session on creating a healthy environment for children to express themselves. This unique opportunity allowed employees to engage in an open and honest discussion, sharing personal stories and insights. Our LGBTQIA+ panelists provided valuable perspectives and advice on navigating conversations about sexual orientation and gender identity with parents.

Additionally, our Knowster parents received practical guidance on fostering an inclusive and accepting atmosphere at home, enabling their children to express themselves authentically. Kayley, one of our panelists, said, “Our goal is to help the next generation feel accepted and supported in a way that so many of us weren’t when we were growing up. We are excited to create a safe space for Knowsters to ask any questions and learn about the most effective ways to help the next generation.”

Spreading Knowledge and Awareness to Knowsters

Our LGBTQIA+ ERG also hosted a virtual trivia event about the history and culture within the community. Knowsters from all over the globe joined in on this event to test their knowledge and learn more about the milestones, prominent figures, and pivotal moments that have shaped the LGBTQIA+ movement. This event provided a platform for participants to connect, share stories, and deepen their understanding of LGBTQIA+ history and culture. 

Attending Pride Parades

Our Knowsters in the Netherlands had an amazing time participating in the Utrecht Pride event! They adopted a bridge to show their support for the LGBTQIA+ community. In addition to festive celebrations, our team enjoyed valuable moments of team-building while watching the boat parade, showcasing their vibrant attire and proudly waving flags! It was a truly remarkable opportunity for our Knowsters to celebrate diversity and immerse themselves in the spirit of inclusivity at Utrecht Pride.

Celebrating Around the Globe

Knowsters in offices all around the globe came together to joyfully celebrate Pride month and show their unwavering support for the LGBTQ+ community. They transformed their workplaces into vibrant spaces with different flags, streamers, and heartwarming messages of acceptance. With an assortment of sweet treats like rainbow-themed cakes, everyone indulged in moments of celebration. Knowsters dressed up in fabulous outfits, expressing their unique identities and spreading positivity. Their collective efforts created a warm and inclusive environment for everyone to celebrate Pride month!

Marina, People & Culture Coordinator in Germany, says, "I organized the Pride celebration for our Germany team to raise awareness about the community and, of course, share some Pride-themed food all together. It is nice to see people find interest in the community once you give them the occasion and a safe space for that."
