KnowBe4 recognizes that employee health and wellness are essential for success and well-being. We work hard to ensure that all our employees globally are happy by offering different perks and benefits. As an employee, it's important to find a company that values your well-being and invests in your personal and professional growth. In this blog post, we will explore some of the unique benefits that KnowBe4 offers to its employees that are not commonly found in other companies.
Everyone at KnowBe4 is incentivized to work hard every day to meet our monthly sales goals. Upon hitting these goals, everyone receives a company-wide monthly bonus, of up to $2,000/month, based on company performance! We also have an employee referral bonus that Knowsters receive once their referral makes it through their probationary period.
KnowBe4 understands the importance of education, and we encourage our employees to pursue further education. After six months of employment, employees can take different certifications and college classes that will be reimbursed, with some even coming with a cash bonus upon completion. Employees can receive up to $5,250 per year for tuition reimbursement.
We also provide payment and materials needed to complete any certifications that are on our approved certifications list. Once you are certified, there are certification completion bonuses for up to $10,000 a year for all global employees! We are always encouraging Knowsters to continue learning and growing their skill sets.
In addition to generous parental leave, KnowBe4 provides reimbursement for the shipping of breast milk for nursing mothers who are required to travel for company business. We also reimburse up to $2,500 per year per employee for adoption assistance. There is even a free online resource library available to employees before and after parental leave.
We provide our employees with access to a life coach who can help our Knowsters set up career goals and discuss personal life issues. This service is in addition to our employee development specialists who help with your day-to-day job functions and growth within your career at KnowBe4.
To promote physical wellness, KnowBe4 provides our employees with free gym memberships and fitness classes from different providers in each country. For example, our German office has access to Urban Sports Club, our Brazil office uses Gympass, and the U.S. office uses Peerfit. There are different gyms and fitness studios around the globe that Knowsters have free access to!
KnowBe4 recently hosted a wellness fair in our Clearwater, Florida office where Knowsters had a chance to meet different local gyms that are featured on Peerfit. We were also able to talk in person with our insurance providers to get a better understanding of the benefits offered to U.S. employees. There were free swag bags, raffles, food, and fun local businesses to shop from! Our employees loved interacting with our partners, including EPIC, Atena, and local wellness centers.
You have heard of PTO… but have you heard of open PTO? In the United States, we offer open paid time off, which allows employees the freedom to take time off when they need it most! And in our other global offices, we offer very competitive time-off policies in accordance with local laws and regulations. This amazing benefit motivates employees to work hard for this privilege and also encourages Knowsters to take time for their mental health so that they can be their best selves at work and at home.
We have a no door policy at KnowBe4, which means that all executives sit at open desks that you can approach at any time. We have company-wide daily briefings where Stu, our CEO, briefs all Knowsters about current economic and cyber security news, product updates, and a rundown of our sales forecast versus actuals. This keeps everyone in the loop, especially in a global and hybrid work environment. Stu also hosts regular “ask me anything” (or AMA) sessions where anyone can ask him personal or KnowBe4-related questions!
KnowBe4 puts our employees first by continuing to provide remote and hybrid work options. While some companies are beginning to abandon these work options in favor of office work, the majority of our team is still able to work remotely for at least part of the week, which provides our team members with the flexibility they need to achieve an optimum work-life balance. To continue engaging remote employees, our global company culture team hosts exciting virtual activities; for example, fun company events, such as our monthly trivia competitions, are held using digital platforms so that everyone around the globe can participate. We also have a relaxed dress code. Our entire dress-code policy is: “If you don't get arrested on your way to work, you are good!"
KnowBe4 is continuing to expand our employee resource groups, and we now offer groups for women, parents, veterans and active military, LGBTQIA+, Black employees, and Hispanic/Latino employees. These groups help to promote change within the organization, provide a voice for members within the company, and offer mentorship, educational, and volunteering opportunities.
Every day at KnowBe4 is filled with celebrations, both big and small. Birthdays, work anniversaries, sales goals, and company milestones are all reasons to celebrate, and we celebrate big. There are always streamers, party horns, and applause sounding around the offices, and special events call for special celebrations. One of our ongoing traditions is to celebrate the end of the month by wearing purple for prosperity and having an end-of-month lunch in each global office! This is something that all of our Knowsters look forward to all year round.
Some recent activities our team members have done are axe throwing competitions (Japan), a trip to Cirque du Soleil (the Netherlands), the Berlin Color Run (Germany), a cocktail party (South Africa), ceramic classes (Brazil), paintball games (Singapore), a desert safari (Dubai), go-karting (Australia), team-building dinners (India), an owl encounter (United Kingdom), and a sleepover game day (United States)!
