Cybersecurity leader continues environmental sustainability commitment with anniversary initiatives

Continuing its broader commitment to support and care for the environment, Knowbe4 will celebrate its anniversary by sponsoring 16 distinct taxonomic families of highly diverse and ecologically important reef-building coral. In addition, it is adopting 16 beehives throughout the US, UK, South Africa and Germany - one for each year the organization has been operating. KnowBe4 has been adopting beehives since 2021 and uses the honey as gifts for employees and customers.
These environmental donations to celebrate KnowBe4’s anniversary, reflect how the organization operates every day. From signing The Climate Pledge to slashing single-use plastics across 14 global offices and embedding hands-on stewardship into its culture, KnowBe4’s commitment to sustainability grows alongside the business. Recognizing its commitment to sustainability, KnowBe4 was named a winner in the 2026 Sustainability Awards by Business Intelligence Group, awarded a Sustainability Leadership Award.
To-date, KnowBe4’s sustainability initiatives have delivered a reduction in emissions year-on-year for five years, a drop in per-employee waste at HQ of an estimated 27%, and more than 57,000 trees planted since 2010. Simultaneously, KnowBe4’s international Green Team has expanded to more than 100 members across all 12 operating countries, cementing environmental stewardship directly into the corporate DNA.

The 16 species of coral are amongst the most threatened of all coral species and occur in tropical shallow waters worldwide. Shallow water coral reefs support an estimated 25% of marine life making their protection critical to global marine biodiversity. KnowBe4 is partnering with the Florida Aquarium and its partner IUCN (International Union for the Conservation of Nature) to assist coral conservation efforts where they are needed most, through a group of specialists made up of coral experts from around the world.
Twelve of the 16 beehives adopted are from the Pinellas Beekeepers Association (PBA). It is estimated that 16 healthy hives contain between 640,000 and 1,280,000 bees, with 960,000 bees being the most realistic target during the peak honey flow. The significance of bees cannot be overstated as they play a crucial role in pollinating roughly 130 agricultural crops, including fruits, fibers, nuts, and vegetables. KnowBe4 is proud to add 960,000 bees to the world population and give them a safe home.
