KnowBe4 Promotes Lecio De Paula Jr. to Vice President of Data Protection


De Paula’s promotion demonstrates KnowBe4’s commitment to complying with data protection requirements and standards

KnowBe4, the provider of the world’s largest security awareness training and simulated phishing platform, today announced that Lecio De Paula Jr. has been promoted to vice president of data protection.Lecio De Paula 2021

In this new role, De Paula will be responsible for coordinating and managing KnowBe4's Privacy and Data Protection Programs. This includes operations of the program, development, implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures, overseeing program compliance, investigation and tracking of security incidents in compliance with federal, state and international laws as well as contractual obligations.

As VP of Data Protection for KnowBe4, De Paula will focus on navigating global data protection requirements and ensuring KnowBe4 meets its data protection standards. He began his career at a privacy tech company where he became an expert in all things U.S. privacy, with a specific focus on HIPAA compliance. He now leads KnowBe4's effort in protecting its information assets on premise and in the cloud. De Paula has extensive expertise in many European and U.S. privacy laws, such as GDPR, CCPA and HIPAA. His primary focus is bridging the gap between privacy and security to create a robust data protection program. De Paula holds a CISSP as well as an AWS/Security certification and is currently Fellow of Information Privacy certified. He is also certified by the IAPP and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional for Canada, Europe and the U.S.
