In November 2021, KnowBe4 was awarded the Green Business Partnership distinction by the University of Florida IFAS Extension, in partnership with Pinellas County.  The Green Business Partnership is a voluntary assessment that recognizes businesses for their environmental stewardship and sustainable practices. It is a collaborative effort of businesses, organizations, and county governments, which encourages the conservation of resources, waste reduction, energy conservation, and cost savings.

The application for the Green Business Partnership is quite rigorous and has over a dozen categories which often require at least three key indicators to qualify. The assessment reviews qualities such as the company’s methods to communicate its environmental commitment to employees, its waste reduction methods, and its water conservation methods.

It also queries whether the organization has completed a waste assessment and established a recycling program that actively encourages employee participation in recycling. The assessment then delves deeply into what additional waste reduction methods the company employs, such as composting, reducing, reusing, repurposing, etc.

Additionally, it explores the organization's measures to reduce environmental impacts, its energy conservation measures (including lighting, heating, and cooling measures), and appliance efficiencies.

We at KnowBe4 are humbled to have met the high standards dictated by the Green Business Partnership, and excited by the existence of such a professional certification for local businesses to strive for. We are proud to be a part of a community of organizations that embrace sustainability so fully.
